Summary of the role:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with egyptian regulations for our legal entity in Egypt. The role also includes supporting Saudi financial operations such as accounts payable and receivable, general ledger activities, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, tax compliance (VAT, WHT, ZATCA requirements), payroll accounting support, and month-end/year-end closing activities.


Key responsibilities: 

  • Manage daily accounting operations for Egypt legal entity.
  • Support Saudi entity daily financial project operations remotely.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and customer account follow-ups.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reconciliation processes.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, reporting requirements, and variance analysis to support financial planning and business decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring complete supporting documentation for all transactions and accounting activities.
  • Support payroll accounting, employee reimbursements, accruals, and provisions while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Utilize ERP/accounting systems effectively and support continuous improvement of finance processes and system integration.
  • Ensure compliance with Egyptian and Saudi Arabian tax regulations, including VAT filings, Withholding Tax (WHT), and ZATCA requirements and reporting.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls and identify opportunities for process automation and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Support with daily office administration works when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends, and technology in the industry to keep our company at the forefront of innovation.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10–15 years of relevant accounting experience in Egypt.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is an advantage.
  • Experience working with Saudi-based companies, with a strong understanding of Saudi accounting and regulatory requirements, is an advantage.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems; Xero and Odoo experience are highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Good knowledge of Saudi VAT filing, Withholding Tax (WHT), and ZATCA compliance.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with strong process-oriented thinking.

 

Working conditions and Environment:

  • Position is full-time based from our New Cairo office, 5-days a week.
  • The position has no international travel requirement.
