Senior Software Engineer
We are hiring for four (4) Senior Software Engineer positions through this single posting. All four roles share the core requirements below.
Who We Are
EdgeBeam is the world’s first Hybrid Network Operator (HNO)—a foundational layer at the edge enabling one-to-many data distribution for today’s wireless networks. We create & sell wireless services and solutions that solve edge connectivity challenges to connect people, data & devices through the untapped potential of broadcast networks.
Location & Work Dynamics
This is a fully onsite role at our Boston Seaport office. We've found that proximity is an accelerator: ideas move faster, problems get solved at the whiteboard, and the wins are louder when the whole team is in the room for them. That's how we win together. Candidates must currently be available to work onsite at our Boston Seaport office. Because we are hiring for this position immediately, we cannot accommodate a future relocation timeline.
Role Overview
EdgeBeam Wireless is hiring for four (4) Senior Software Engineer positions to help build and evolve the software
systems at the heart of our hybrid network platform. You will enable our enterprise partners to
leverage our one-to-many distribution capabilities. The team architects and delivers full-stack
features (from customer-facing dashboards and device management interfaces to the APIs and
backend services) and a software-defined distributed broadband access network (element
management, resource management, observability, and IP packet delivery over broadcast via
NextGen TV (ATSC 3.0) transport). The team is creating our cloud-based Vector Platform, the
Platform Agent edge systems, resource manager, policy manager and distributed device
controller.
As a senior contributor in our Boston office, on a 15-person engineering team split between
Boston and Baltimore, you will drive technical decisions, mentor engineers, and work across
product, networking, operations, and device software teams to ship software that matters on a
problem nobody has solved before.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate in the development and delivery of full-stack features across frontend and
backend services - Deliver critical operations tools for EdgeBeam's platform including network telemetry,
device health, and data distribution and delivery status for customers and broadcast
partners - Engage in CI/CD pipeline design and DevOps practices across the engineering
organization (e.g., Jira, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) to implement and automate our
network behaviors - Develop scalable device fleet configuration and lifecycle management systems
Integrate agentic AI workflows (Claude, ChatGPT, Codex) into internal tooling and
customer-facing products to accelerate delivery and operations - Uphold and evolve our development standards, participate in architecture reviews, and
maintain high-quality standards on what the team ships - Engage with network and device software engineers to build APIs and SDKs above
ATSC 3.0 and hybrid broadcast/cellular infrastructure - Own cross-cutting engineering concerns: observability, reliability, security, and scalability
for distributed edge systems - Develop software for IP packet encapsulation and delivery across the ATSC 3.0
broadcast layer including integration with Studio-to-Transmitter Link Transport Protocol
(STLTP) - Mentor engineers through code review, architecture guidance, and hands-on
collaboration
What You Bring
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong full-stack track
record - Fluency in Python, Go, or Node.js (backend) and React/Next.js (frontend)
- Experience with architecture and operation of cloud-native, distributed systems at scale
(AWS, GCP, or Azure) - Strong skills and experience in CI/CD, deployment automation, and DevOps culture
Familiarity with telecom, wireless, or broadband systems and a clear appetite to go deep
and become familiar with new technologies - History of owning production issues end-to-end from detection to resolution
- Demonstrated ability to participate in team decision-making process to support setting of
technical direction and team alignment - Track record of deploying observability into large systems and experience with
visualization, performance measurement, and alarming tools such as Datadog,
Prometheus, and Grafana - Proficiency building with or on top of foundation models (LLM APIs, agentic pipelines,
prompt engineering) - An ability to solve problems and implement solutions using AI to amplify developer
productivity, while prioritizing architectural deep-dives and first-principles thinking - Familiarity with modern software development lifecycles (e.g., test driven development
(TDD), product oriented development (POD), or AI-enhanced development cycles)
Additional Experience
- Some team members bring Network Software Development experience
- Familiarity with network architecture concepts including control plane / data plane
separation, network policy, routing, quality of service (QoS), traffic policing,
session management, switching, transport, VLANs, and packet segmentation /
reassembly - Built and operated large scale device control architectures including Network
Management System (NMS), Element Management Systems (EMS), northbound
interfaces (RESTful APIs), southbound interfaces (NetConf/RestConf) - Experience with cloud deployments of software-defined networks, network-as-
code practices, and YAML-based configuration management
- Familiarity with network architecture concepts including control plane / data plane
- Some team members bring Radio Transmission experience
- Understanding of radio wave propagation characteristics, link budgets, signal
interference, and antennas - Exposure to mathematics of channel coding and modulation for maintaining
signal integrity - Proficiency with broadcast transport protocols (STLTP, ATSC 3.0 physical
and link layers) and IP multicast delivery over broadcast spectrum
- Understanding of radio wave propagation characteristics, link budgets, signal
- Some team members bring Device Management Software experience
- Large scale device control, lifecycle management, remote provisioning,
registration, credential management, and software download - Familiarity with standardized network and server device management information
architectures (e.g., User Services Platform (TR-369), CPE WAN Management
Protocol (TR-069))
- Large scale device control, lifecycle management, remote provisioning,
Our Values
At EdgeBeam, we operate with a shared set of values:
- Customers First — We put our customers; objectives and pain points ahead of our own.
- Dig Deep — We are technically curious and thorough in execution. We don't cream
skim. - Win Together — Collaboration is in our DNA.
- Disagree & Commit — We welcome constructive conflict. Once we have made a
decision, we are behind that decision 100%. - No Jerks — EdgeBeam is not a place for jerks.
What Success Looks Like
30 Days: You are productive in the codebase, contributing to sprint work from day one. You
have a working understanding of EdgeBeams platform, hybrid network architecture, and
delivery pipeline. You've met the engineering team in Boston and Baltimore, understand current
priorities, and have identified key areas of expertise across the team.
90 Days: You are owning and delivering features end-to-end across the stack. You are leading
code reviews, contributing to architecture decisions, and actively improving our CI/CD and
DevOps practices.
