AdventHealth Porter Centre for Behavioral Health is looking for a full-time Advanced Practiced Provider (APP), either a Psychiatric Physician Assistant or a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). The primary tasks of the psychiatric APP are to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with a variety of behavioral health conditions. The psychiatric APP meets patients both in-person and virtually.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Behavioral Health APP (Psychiatric Physician Assistant or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner), under a physician's collaboration, provides assessment and treatment to patients with psychiatric conditions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides assessment and medication management for patients in the AdventHealth Porter Centre for Behavioral Health.
- Assures timely and accurate entries of medical histories, progress notes, and treatment recommendations in the patients' medical records.
- Assures all patient management documentation, including pharmaceutical modalities, is outlined in the patient's medical record.
- Practices within scope, as delineated by education and training including prescriptive privileges and in accordance with collaborating physician guidelines.
- Collaborates with the clinic Medical Assistants.
- Refers patients for laboratory, radiology and other specialty care as needed for services that cannot be provided at the practice.
- Assures that adequate patient health records and confidentiality are maintained under HIPAA regulations.
- Participates with supervising physician in a periodic review of the patients' health records and treatment plans.
- Appropriately charges for services rendered according to Federal, State, and third-party payors laws, rules and regulations.
- Performs other clinical duties as required, such as evaluating and treating patients in the intensive outpatient programs and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:
- Must have knowledge of local, state and federal regulations regarding the delivery and billing of healthcare services.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Experience in either an outpatient or inpatient psychiatric setting.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree and certification from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Three years of experience in a behavioral health setting.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- Psychiatric Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- Current Colorado Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license.
