Overview

BrightStar Care is building a team of Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) with pediatric experience to provide attentive, one-on-one care to a 5 year old in Santa Barbara. You will support your patients health and daily care needs, including diaper changes, while communicating clearly with the client, family, and care team.

Shifts Available Daily Including Weekends

1:30pm - 7:30

**We are looking for nurses who can commit long-term to 2-3 shifts per week**

LVN Responsibilities

• Perform skilled assessments and ongoing monitoring
• Administer G-tube feedings, medications, and tube care
• Monitor feeding tolerance and GI status
• Provide seizure monitoring and intervention
• Monitor neurological status and manage dystonia-related needs
• Administer and monitor medications
• Observe for infection and transplant-related concerns
• Maintain aspiration precautions and respiratory monitoring
• Assist with positioning, mobility, and ADLs
• Support skin integrity and fall prevention
• Provide family respite, communication, and care coordination
  

• LVN Qualifications

Active California LVN or RN license in good standing

Preferred Experience:

• Pediatric home health experience
• Experience caring for patients with dystonia or other movement disorders
• Experience supporting transplant patients or medically complex clients
• Home health or private-duty nursing experience preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience with G-tube feeding, medication administration, and enteral care preferred
• Experience caring for patients with seizure disorders and neurological conditions preferred
• Knowledge of aspiration precautions, infection prevention, and patient safety practices
• Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
• Ability to assist with mobility, positioning, and activities of daily living
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to the client's home
• Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the clinical team
