System Architect - Technical Marketing
Rolling Wireless is an international company with 20+ years of experience in developing cellular modems and software for the automotive market. We are the largest 2nd Tier supplier of cellular modems to the automotive industry worldwide.

Position / Assignment Purpose:
The System Architect – Technical Marketing contributes to Rolling Wireless’ automotive software and connectivity strategy by bridging customer needs, embedded software capabilities, and technology trends. As part of the Product Management and Marketing team, the role supports customer technical engagements, defines software-oriented solution architectures based on the company’s product portfolio, and provides structured inputs for software roadmap decisions.
Position / Assignment Summary:
The role leads technical discussions with customers, identifies suitable hardware and software solutions, and translates customer requirements into actionable product and system architecture inputs. It also supports RFI/RFQ activities by preparing clear technical responses, while contributing to technology watch and competitive analysis to strengthen Rolling Wireless’ product positioning.
Key Accountabilities / Statement of Work:
Customer and pre-sales technical support:
- Lead advanced technical discussions with customers on Rolling Wireless products and solutions.
- Understand customer use cases, technical requirements, and constraints.
- Present and demonstrate product capabilities in a clear and customer-oriented manner.
Solution architecture and product definition:
- Define suitable hardware and software architectures based on Rolling Wireless products.
- Translate customer needs into product requirements and roadmap inputs.
- Work with R&D teams to define, refine, and validate product features.
Demonstrations, PoCs and documentation:
- Define and build proofs of concept, demonstrations, and technical materials to showcase company technologies and products.
- Prepare clear technical documentation to support customer discussions and internal alignment.
Technology watch and competitive benchmarking
- Monitor relevant technologies, market trends, and competitor solutions.
- Evaluate competing solutions and provide structured insights to support product strategy.
RFI/RFQ support:
- Analyze and structure customer system and application requirements.
- Support the RFI/RFQ manager by preparing technical answers and solution proposals with input from R&D, System Engineering, and Quality teams.
Required Education and Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in embedded system development.
- Strong technical experience in automotive projects, preferably in telematics or infotainment.
- Experience working with remote teams in an international environment.
- Experience in product definition, requirements definition, and system architecture for embedded Linux systems.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Technical expertise:
- Strong knowledge of embedded Linux, including file systems, TCP/IP networking, device drivers, IPC, memory management, process scheduling, system integration, boot, security, and Yocto.
- Knowledge of ARM architectures and Qualcomm platforms.
- Knowledge of hardware platforms and wireless peripherals, including CAN, UART, USB, SPI, I²C, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
- Knowledge of cellular and wireless communication technologies, including LTE, 5G, VoLTE, eCall, eSIM/eUICC, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, V2X, and GNSS.
Tools and languages:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Fluent English is mandatory.
