Logistics Manager

Manchester, IA | On-Site
Compensation: $80,000 – $110,000 salary, depending on experience

Schedule: This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position in Manchester, Iowa.

Do you thrive when the phone is ringing, the board is full, and you're the one making it all work? A growing transportation and mobile space solutions company in Eastern Iowa is looking for a hands-on Logistics Manager to run day-to-day delivery and pickup operations and lead our team of 12–13 drivers.

This is not a "manage from the office" role. You'll be in the middle of the action every day: building the schedule, talking with drivers, solving problems in real time, and making sure our customers get their units when and where they were promised. Our equipment is large, loads take time, and most trucks can only deliver one unit at a time, so smart planning makes all the difference.

What You'll Do

Lead the Fleet

  • Supervise, schedule, and support a team of 12–13 drivers
  • Build and adjust daily and weekly delivery, pickup, and relocation schedules
  • Handle driver questions, issues, and changes in real time, including early-morning and after-hours calls when needed
  • Promote safe operations and DOT compliance, including hours of service and driver documentation
  • Work alongside and direct the Logistics Assistant

Coordinate Operations

  • Work constantly with the Lease Account Coordinators to confirm what can be delivered or picked up, and when
  • Coordinate with the shop so units are fabricated, cleaned, and ready to go out on time
  • Balance customer timelines against travel distance, load and unload time, and equipment availability
  • Communicate with customers about delivery timing, site requirements, and schedule changes when needed

Manage Peak Seasons

  • Plan for and run high-volume periods such as holiday retail, fairs, festivals, fireworks operations, and special events
  • Keep core accounts on schedule while handling seasonal demand

Track and Improve

  • Keep accurate records of deliveries, pickups, driver activity, and equipment
  • Spot bottlenecks and improve routing, scheduling, and communication processes

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in dispatch, fleet management, driver management, transportation, or logistics operations
  • Experience directly supervising drivers or field crews
  • A doer who takes the call, makes the decision, and gets it done, not just someone who oversees others
  • Strong scheduling and problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Clear, direct communication with drivers, customers, sales, and shop staff
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations and hours of service
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and able to learn dispatch and scheduling systems quickly
  • CDL experience, or experience in equipment rental, construction, or heavy-haul delivery, is a strong plus

You'll Be Successful Here If You...

  • Stay calm and decisive when plans change mid-day
  • Earn drivers' respect by understanding their world
  • Like owning the outcome and following through on every detail
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, small-company environment where every day is different

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift. Drivers start as early as 5:00 AM.
