Finance Transformation Intern

OVERVIEW

Future Planet Capital is replacing its core finance system. This role assists the Finance team with the implementation project and provides backfill capacity for business-as-usual finance tasks over the contract term. 

This role is will be a 3 month contract, commencing early October. It is expected to be full time, although a 4 day week will be considered if preferred. 

 

REQUIREMENTS

Graduate in a finance-related degree, with a strong understanding of accounting concepts. Prior exposure to systems implementation or testing is beneficial. A general understanding of the venture capital industry is an advantage. A passion for identifying and implementing process improvements/

• Strong Excel skills — confident building and manipulating data sets, formulas and reconciliations
• High accuracy and attention to detail, particularly for data migration and reconciliation work
• Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity — priorities will shift as the project progresses

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

System implementation

• Assist with the design and implementation of the new finance system
• Support liaison with the implementation partner
• Assist with system set-up, including new companies, customers and suppliers
• Take part in user acceptance testing, document results and feed back to the project manager
• Produce migration templates for cutover from the old to the new system
• Validate migrated data against legacy records to confirm accuracy of opening balances and mappings
• Document new processes and workflows to support training and handover to the wider Finance team

Financial reporting

• Backfill the Finance team on business-as-usual tasks where required
• Support the monthly management reporting cycle and day-to-day finance operations

General finance tasks

• Assist the Finance team with other general tasks as required
• Assist the Director of Finance & Operations with day-to-day tasks, including documentation management and archiving of legacy systems
