Payroll Data Clerk
Accurately maintains and updates payroll information by collecting and entering data.
Responsibilities:
• Enters new hires, terminations, and reactivations into system
• Maintains payroll information by collecting and entering data such as tax information, retirement deferrals, and deductions
• Review and verify source of all payroll documents received
• Updates payroll records by entering changes to worker information
• Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information from different internal payroll sources
• Troubleshoots payroll questions and complies with requests from employers and unions
• Compiles internal reports upon request by colleagues
• Compiles accurate payroll reports upon request by external contacts
• Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
• Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping confidential information
• Contact locals via email or phone calls to resolve inaccurate or missing information
• Process payroll for over 4000 workers once a month
• Organize and mail payroll packages to different locations weekly
• Respond to verification of employment requests from financial institutions, government etc. weekly.
• Respond to payroll emails and phone calls daily
• Print and mail over 5000 W-2s and 1095Cs annually
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One or more years of related payroll experience and/or training
• Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications
• Must have excellent attention to detail
• Must have outstanding communication skills
• Must be able to multitask and handle a fast-paced working environment
• Must be organized and be able to prioritize projects
