This Fall, we will be motivating and educating voters on the possibilities our communities can have and the significance of a true democracy through the support of the Yes on 3, No on 39 campaign.
Canvassers will enthusiastically engage voters around Proposition 3 and Proposition 39 in the 2026 General Election. The person in this role should be community driven, strongly motivated to connect and contact voters across Koreatown and central Los Angeles through in-person phone banking and door-to-door canvassing in support of voting Yes on Prop 3 and No on Prop 39. Scripts and Training will be provided.
Job Duties
- Canvass residential neighborhoods to educate and encourage registered voters to support Proposition 3 and Oppose Proposition 39 this November
- Attend canvasser orientation and training September 28-29, and ongoing trainings
- Conduct outreach via phone and text message banking
- Provide accurate information to voters, adhere to script messaging, and collaborate with team members
- Meet or exceed daily/weekly outreach goals as set by the program
- Accurately track conversation and data using canvassing software/apps
- Collect voter contact information for future outreach efforts
- Must be able to use a cellphone, laptop, zoom, web browser and canvassing application.
- Team members must use their own smartphone for outreach.
- Canvassers must be prepared to work in all types of weather, complete light physical activities such as standing or walking for long periods of time and be able to carry up to 10 pounds.
Qualifications
- Availability to work Monday-Friday 3:30 PM - 8:30 PM
- Prior canvassing or grassroots outreach experience required
- Bilingual English-Spanish or English-Korean strongly preferred
- Must be able to navigate through neighborhoods and speak to voters
- Integrity and mature judgment
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work within a team structure
- Passion for workers, immigrant, and tenants rights and social and racial justice
- Having a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation is preferred.
Employment Status: Temporary, at-will, non-exempt
Period: September 28 - November 4, 2026
Salary Information: $26 /hour
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:30pm to 8:30pm. Up to 25 hours/week. Extra hours as approved by supervisor only.
Union: KIWA is a unionized workplace. This role is outside of the bargaining unit.
