Strategic Operations Manager
Strategic Operations Manager
Full-Time, Remote / Salary, Exempt / Includes Benefits, PTO, Flexible Schedule, Equity
Steno is growing! We're looking for a Strategic Operations Manager to join our winning team, which is revolutionizing the legal services industry every single day. You'll partner directly with the Director of Strategic Operations to turn data into decisions and decisions into results, helping Steno scale smarter as we change how attorneys handle depositions. We're a diverse team from all over the country (and beyond) and we're crazy about redefining the boundaries of an outdated industry.
Who are you?
You're part data detective, part project leader. You can't help but ask "why?" and you love digging into the numbers to find the story hiding inside them, then rallying a cross-functional team to act on it. You're equally at home building a dashboard that makes a trend obvious to a non-technical colleague and running the workshop that turns that insight into a new workflow. You're a self-starter who is energized by ambiguity, prioritizes with limited oversight, and presents with confidence to stakeholders at every level. In this role, you'll extend the reach of operations leadership and become the go-to person for both data questions and operational project execution. This role reports to the Director of Strategic Operations.
If you're looking for a company that offers support, guidance, an abundance of killer giphys, and unlimited potential to grow into your best self, you can bet we'd love to have you too.
On a regular basis you will
- Dive into operational data to uncover insights, investigate trends, and answer the business's most critical questions
- Own insight generation and follow-up across the organization, making sure analysis turns into action
- Build and maintain dashboards that tell a clear, meaningful story about operational performance
- Lead complex operational projects from conception through completion, with clear timelines, deliverables, and accountability
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple departments and stakeholders
- Turn analytical findings into structured improvement projects with defined outcomes
- Design and roll out process improvements and new workflows
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and strategic planning sessions
- Present findings and project updates to stakeholders at all levels
- Anticipate business needs with proactive analysis and project planning, partnering with the Director of Strategic Operations on multiple initiatives at once
You're gonna crush it if
- You have 3-5 years of experience combining analytics and project management, ideally at a high-growth startup, bank, or consulting firm
- You have advanced skills in data manipulation and visualization using tools like Excel, Looker, and Tableau
- You're proficient in SQL and familiar with modern BI tools such as Looker
- You have a proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives and managing multiple stakeholders
- You're highly organized and can juggle competing priorities and complex timelines
- You're endlessly curious and follow through analytically, using data and logic to explore solutions
- You communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- You're a self-starter who meets deadlines and spots opportunities with limited oversight
- You thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments and are comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change
- Bonus: experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran; Python or R; machine learning concepts; legal tech or professional services; or working with operational teams in complex service-based businesses
