About the Role
Aldar Tissues is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support the reliability, performance and upkeep of production equipment within a busy manufacturing environment.
The role will support maintenance activity across production machinery, tissue converting equipment, packaging equipment and general site engineering tasks. It is suited to someone with a practical maintenance, manufacturing, fitting or technician background who is flexible, reliable and willing to develop within a factory engineering team.
A mechanical background would be suitable. Electrical knowledge is an advantage, but not essential, provided the candidate is willing to learn and work safely within their competence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support maintenance activities across production and manufacturing equipment.
- Assist with breakdowns, fault finding and equipment reliability issues.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks and routine inspections.
- Support repairs, adjustments, lubrication, cleaning support and improvement work.
- Work with production teams to help reduce downtime and improve machine performance.
- Assist with maintenance of tissue converting, packaging and production machinery.
- Support wider site engineering tasks where required.
- Complete maintenance records, work orders and PPM documentation.
- Follow site safety, hygiene and isolation procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in maintenance, technician, fitting, manufacturing or engineering support role.
- Experience working with production machinery or industrial equipment.
- Practical hands-on ability with good problem-solving skills.
- Mechanical experience or strong mechanical understanding.
- Flexible approach and willingness to support a broad range of maintenance duties.
- Ability to work safely in a busy production environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with production teams.
- Reliable, organised and willing to learn.
Advantageous
- Experience in tissue manufacturing, packaging, converting, FMCG or similar production environments.
- Basic electrical knowledge or willingness to develop electrical skills.
- Experience with planned maintenance systems, work orders or CMMS.
- Exposure to production equipment such as conveyors, motors, sensors, rollers, pneumatics or packaging machinery
Role Summary
This is a broad Maintenance Technician role supporting production machinery, planned maintenance and general engineering activities across the site. The ideal candidate will be practical, flexible and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment where priorities can change quickly.
