At Meyer’s, we’re on a crusade to help owners improve the relationship between them and their dogs and be the HERO in their lives. Kent & Gwen Meyer are 3rd generation dog professionals and have been teaching “dog speak” for over 30 years.  

HELP CREATE THE MEYER LOOK AND OFFERINGS

We need someone who has a servant heart for creative-artistic support and loves to play with pretty things. The right brain and the left brain must be firing on all cylinders. We are looking for someone who balances the details in design principles with creativity. The display team creates the first impression of style and unique items when guests step into a Meyer location. It's finding the balance of design and comfort using the carefully curated products Meyer's offers to the greater community.  Kent and Gwen never wanted to have their locations look or feel like a pet store. Our goal is to invite customers into our retail spaces to find not only unique goods for their pets, but also for their homes and friends.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Ability to lift and carry medium to large items, weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, lift, and bend frequently throughout the shift. Ability to go up and down ladders. Ability to work with power tools. Must be able to work outdoors enduring extreme weather. 
• Efficiently prototype display elements as needed.
• Contributes creative ideas and solutions regarding merchandising and display.
• Protect customer experience by engaging and interacting with clients, even if setting the floor or working on a project.
• Work on detail oriented display projects.
• High volume fabrication of displays for a high volume merchandiser.
• Uphold all company policies and supports Meyer mission.

• Familiarity with design principles
• A “put me in, coach” attitude - This position will often deal with mundane tasks and minutia.
• A tenacious and resilient demeanor
• An innate hunger for growth
• A mentality that feedback is priceless

BASIC EDUCATION

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have an artistic background. A formal degree is not required.

 WHERE YOU WILL BE LOCATED:

• Home base will be Meyer's Canine Colony on historic Main Street in Roscoe, IL, but you will also need to regularly display our other showrooms in Belvidere, IL and DeForest, WI.
• Setup displays and attend various regional vendor markets throughout the year.
• The store stylist works directly under the owners and Roscoe location leader to help prototype, craft, and install displays.
