QA-QC Engineer
1- MISSION
To control, and monitor all activities related to the Quality Management System, QMS. To plan and prepare quality procedures. Upkeep the QA/QC documents of the entire project including certificates, calibration, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/observations, materials delivered and other QA/QC related documentation.
2- LINE AND STAFF RELATIONS
This role will report directly to the Director, Production and Operations. He/She has relation with:
• All the local staff: Project Manager, Inspector
• All the external entities necessary to his/her job execution
3- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare Quality Procedures and Plans.
• Coordinate and support in the review of as-built and shop drawings.
• Ensure proper implementation of the Project Quality Procedures and formats in compliance to ISO 9001 “Quality Management System”.
• Ensure that all works carried out are in compliance with the contract requirements.
• Coordinate all QA/QC technical issues in order to facilitate the submission of method statements, inspection and test plans, etc.
• Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements when required.
• Perform QA/QC review and update on the Project Specifications to ensure
o consistency with the contract drawings;
o compliance with the latest versions of the local and international codes and standards; avoidance of ambiguities;
o correctness/completeness of related references;
o compliance with the project requirements in terms of format and consistency of terminologies.
• Assess possible risk to ensure appropriate corrective actions and audits can be mandated in relation to the:
o systems requirements, development, deployment and handover;
o consistent development and implementation of a systems assurance strategy and plan.
Site Supervision
• Legibly and accurately record all rejects or non-complying works, materials and equipment as well as potential problems for early resolution.
• Provide guidance to the Subcontractors in the development of the Project Deliverables.
• Review contractor’s deliverables
• Carry out NCR closure by formulating appropriate responses, correspondences and follow through on issues of delays to Client and Subcontractors.
• Prepare inspection test plans in coordination with the Senior QA/QC Engineer and Project QA/QC Manager in consultation with the construction team.
• Coordinate all QA/QC activities with the site QA/QC Manager.
• Report issues/problems encountered and participate in proposing a mitigation plan.
Digital and AI Tools Usage
- Use company-approved digital and AI tools, where permitted, to support QA/QC workflows including document checks, audit preparation, NCR trend analysis, inspection checklists and reporting.
- Verify all AI-assisted outputs against the contract, project specifications, approved documents, applicable codes and professional engineering judgment before issue.
- Maintain confidentiality and data protection requirements: do not upload client, project, personal, commercially sensitive or controlled information to public or non-approved AI tools.
- Keep traceability of AI-assisted reviews, assumptions and prompts where relevant, and ensure all final QA/QC deliverables remain subject to human review and approval.
4- PROFILE SPECIFICATIONS
- Qualified Engineer (BSc Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent).
- 5- 8 years overall Construction experience – Airport experience is a plus.
- Certified lead Auditor in Quality Management Systems from IRCA Registered Certification Organization and shall have good knowledge and experience with ISO 9000 series requirements.
- Auditor training ISO 9001:2008 or 2015.
- Previous consultant experience.
- Good Communication Skills and good command in English language.
- Proficiency in MS Office and common QA/QC/document control platforms; ability to use dashboards, registers and AI-assisted tools for analysis and reporting is required. Awareness of responsible AI usage, data confidentiality, prompt discipline and validation of AI-generated outputs is required
