We're Seeking a Rockstar Summer Coding Lead Teacher

Are you enthusiastic about inspiring young minds through coding and hands-on STEM experiences?We're looking for dynamic Summer Coding Lead Teachers who are passionate about teaching coding while creating a safe and memorable experience for our campers. You'll primarily lead our morning coding program, introducing campers to programming languages similar to Scratch while guiding exciting engineering projects using Arduino circuit boards, sensors, proprietary robots, and other innovative technologies. Beyond coding, you'll foster curiosity, creativity, and confidence as campers explore STEM in a fun and supportive environment.

Summer Coding Lead Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Coding Lessons: Teach coding concepts using programming languages similar to Scratch while creating an engaging and interactive learning experience.

  • Coach Engineering Projects: Guide campers as they build inventions using Arduino circuit boards, sensors, proprietary robots, and other STEM technologies.

  • Mentorship and Guidance: Lead campers through interactive coding and STEM activities, supporting both their educational and personal development.

  • Safety and Supervision: Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all campers while adhering to camp safety guidelines.

  • Activity Coordination: Help organize and lead camp activities, ensuring each day is dynamic, engaging, and enriching for every camper.

Summer Coding Lead Teacher Qualifications:

  • Experience with Children: You have 1+ years of experience working with children ages 8–12 and enjoy fostering their curiosity and creativity.

  • Passion for Coding & STEM: You're passionate about coding, engineering, and emerging technologies and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with young learners.

  • Enthusiastic and Eager to Learn: You love learning new technologies, teaching strategies, and STEM concepts.

  • Positive and Solution-Oriented: You maintain a positive outlook, always seeking solutions and welcoming constructive feedback to foster personal and professional growth.

  • Fun and Energetic: Your energetic and fun-loving nature matches the dynamism of our campers, creating an exciting and engaging learning environment.

  • Empathetic Mentor: You act as a role model, providing guidance and encouragement while fostering a supportive environment where children feel safe to explore, invent, and innovate.

Summer Coding Lead Teacher Compensation and Benefits:

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 12:15 PM. Coding instruction primarily takes place during the morning, with additional time before and after class for material setup, lesson preparation, camper arrival, and wrap-up.

  • Compensation: $25–$30/hour.

  • Location: Manhattan and Brooklyn.
