Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Selects the type and size of pipe, fittings, valves, steel, equipment, and related materials to assemble as instructed.
- Plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of geometry, effects of heat and allowance for weld shrinkage in preparatory to welding.
- Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together according to blueprints and project specifications.
- Moves parts into position manually or by hoist, cranes, jigs, fixtures, clamps and jacks.
- Cuts, threads, bends, shape pipe, and steel with various tools and equipment.
- Loads, transports, and unloads materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Performs minor maintenance and cleaning activities of tools, equipment and facility.
- Responsible for observing and complying with all safety rules, including wearing personal safety equipment.
