Kitting Technician

Production Technician

The Kitting Technician performs tasks involved in the company’s O-ring and specialty components.  Tasks include receiving, packaging, and kitting operations through the coordination and participation of activities that are consistent with established policies, goals, and objectives.  The Kitting Technician provides effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs as well as communicating effectively with team members.

Essential Functions

• Coordinate with the Supervisor - Specialty Kitting regarding execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the company’s O-ring and specialty component operations.
• Receive, document, and fill orders in accordance with sales/purchase order
• Ensure quality standards are met in all areas as outlined in VSP’s Quality Manual
• Abide by VSP’s zero-tolerance quality standard regarding kitting procedures
• Operate a fork truck and/or hand truck to move material both in plant and to/from trucks
• Attach appropriate labels, tags, and information to products and packages ensuring that all products are properly and accurately labeled
• Assist with a random sampling of components in accordance with the Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) regarding compound, sizing, and durometer
• Maintain established inventory stocking levels including receiving and restocking both finished goods and raw materials
• Package and ship finished goods in accordance with sales/purchase orders
• Provide accurate delivery and shipment tracking information
• Work in a safe manner that protects and promotes the health and well-being of the employees and the environment
• Adheres to all company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures as outlined in the VSP Health & Safety Manual. Actively contributes to maintaining a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace in alignment with VSP standards
• Deliver finished product to customers as necessary
• Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness
• Project a favorable image of the company to promote, foster, and enhance public recognition of the company and its products and services
  

Experience / Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience relating to the job duties
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card (where applicable)
• Experience or training in manufacturing process/environment (Preferred)
• CNC manufacturing equipment experience (Preferred)
