Job Title:                       Lead Front-End Developer

 

Reports to:                    Practice Head: Web Services  

 ROLE OVERVIEW

The employed individual will be challenged with access to a range of projects at clients across industries, working with other experienced technologists whose single pursuit is optimal value creation for our customers through the construction of peerless solutions. This dynamic self- starting individual will be involved in the definition of development best practices and serve as team’s authority on creation of code quality and development of sound front-end architecture to ensure successful delivery on hundreds of software development assignments. You would have the opportunity to be involved with both consulting projects and internal projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Develop rich front-end applications using the latest front-end technology: AngularJS (1.5/2.0), Bootstrap, Kendo UI components, Highcharts 
  • Develop functional and appealing web- and mobile-based applications whilst consuming WCF services  and RESTful API’s created by back-end developers 
  • Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications 
  • Have an active role in all features and design decisions, defining front-end architecture 
  • As technical lead be involved in defining development best practices and applying them in a large distributed development team 
  • Set and/or contributing to the improvement of software coding standards and practices being observed within the team environment 
  • Identify and resolve software defects, and do root cause analysis  
  • Conducting peer reviews of project code 
  • Consume and create technical documentation such as specification documents, UML diagrams, user stories, wireframes etc. 
  • Use and implement a version control system to manage code changes 
  • Configure, optimise and deploy applications 
  • Conduct system audits and recommendations 
  • Task prioritisation and effort estimation, using Agile Methodologies for self and team 
  • Assist and mentor other inexperienced consultants with in current projects 
  • Identify and close business opportunities, with specific involvement in the technical presale of potential projects and some business involvement  
  • Contribute to DVT Insights, including contributions to the internal DVT intellectual property (IP) and technical growth 
  • Partake in technical presentations/knowledge sharing, both internally and publicly (DVT Insights) 
  • A proven track record of successfully leading results driven team or tech. leadership 


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering or other related qualifications 
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in SDLC methodologies such as AGILE (SCRUM) 
  • Expert at Solution Architecture 


Passionate about coding and web technologies: 

  • 4+ years of development expertise in JavaScript / HTML5 / CSS3 
  • 2+ year of experience with AngularJS and potentially other Javascript libraries/frameworks 
  • Extensive knowledge and use of Frameworks 
  • Desire to make pixel perfect web products, using all the latest CSS tricks to push boundaries 
  • Capable of working within a team in a full development life cycle 


Added Advantage: 

  • Experience of any of the server-side web application development languages (PHP, ASP.NET MVC, Node.JS, Ruby on Rails) 
  • Understanding of ASP.NET MVC, C#, .Net Framework 4.0/4.6, Entity Framework 
  • Familiar with TDD, Mocha, Jasmine
