Compensation: $20-24 per hour, Non-exempt

Schedule: Part time, 10-20 hours/week, flexible between 8am - 4pm weekdays

Position Description: During the busy season, Lighthouse Mission Ministries has a need for additional support with processing donations and stewarding our donors. This part-time temporary/seasonal position will run from mid-October to early January. The schedule is variable, fluctuating between 10-20 hours a week, Monday through Friday during the hours of 8AM-4PM. The Advancement Services Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of the Advancement Department by assisting with incoming donation processing, data entry, donor acknowledgment, mail processing, and record organization.


Compensation to Include: Washington Paid Sick Leave, 403(b) contribution, Employee Assistance

Program, bonus pay for staff who spend holidays with residents, ongoing training, and professional

development. 


Responsibilities:

  • Collect and retrieve mail from the Post Office.
  • Open and organize incoming donations.
  • Prepare donations for processing, including scanning and copying checks and organizing materials for data entry.
  • Fold, stuff, prepare, and send gift acknowledgment letters and thank-you cards.
  • Contact donors to thank them for giving, resolve questions, or collect missing information.
  • Assist with accurate and timely donation data entry as needed.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date donor and gift records and donation batches, utilizing Bloomerang, Google Sheets, and physical files.
  • Assist with donor stewardship activities and other projects that support the Advancement Department.


Organizational Relationships: Works alongside a team of Advancement staff, Finance staff, volunteers, and interns. Represents LMM to the community. Reports to the Director of Annual Giving.


Qualifications:

  • Detail oriented with a passion for accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passionate, motivated team player who is willing to learn and is committed to working within a collaborative environment while ensuring the highest level of customer service
  • A passion for serving Jesus through ministry. The successful candidate will have an active church and prayer life.
  • Ability to report as regularly scheduled to work site
  • Ability to successfully pass criminal background screenings
  • Agreement with the Lighthouse Mission’s Statement of Faith and Life & Personal Covenant
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Gmail, and Google Calendar
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education/ experience


Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

  • Light to medium lifting (up to 25 lbs) as needed to assist with donations
  • Possible exposure to a variety of illnesses
  • Both inside and outside activities regardless of weather
  • With or without reasonable accommodations
