Legal & Compliance Specialist (SaaS Industry, APAC)

About the Company

inline is seeking a Legal & Compliance Specialist with a strong interest in the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) industry to join our growing team. This role will be instrumental in ensuring inline’s contractual integrity, commercial liability, and business compliance across all regions and product lines.

About the Role

The ideal candidate is an English speaker with exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, capable of navigating complex regulatory frameworks and communicating clearly with global partners. Bilingual proficiency (Mandarin, Cantonese, or Japanese) will be considered a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance to internal teams including Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Operations, regarding product distribution, partnership structures, employment, and compliance matters.
• Draft, review, revise, and manage a variety of legal documents, including commercial contracts, NDAs, partnership agreements, reseller or data sharing arrangements, and employment-related documents, ensuring alignment with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Negotiate commercial and legal terms directly with clients and partners to protect inline’s interests while supporting sustainable and fair business relationships.
• Research and monitor legislative developments across APAC, particularly on data privacy, consumer protection, and digital services regulations.
• Represent inline in communications with regulatory authorities or dispute resolution bodies where necessary.
• Assist in building and refining internal legal templates, approval workflows, and compliance frameworks to scale with inline’s international growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or related field required.
• Advanced education or certification in Business, Finance, or Corporate Governance is a strong advantage.

Required Skills

• 7-8 years of proven experience in providing legal and compliance support in a corporate or technology-driven environment, ideally within the SaaS or digital services sector. Experience in cross-border or APAC-wide commercial work is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation with external clients, partners, or vendors, including the ability to propose commercially viable solutions and safeguard company interests under time-sensitive conditions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of contract law, data protection, and intellectual property regulations, including frameworks such as GDPR, PDPA, and other regional compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills, with the ability to translate legal complexity into clear and actionable business guidance.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation and review, combined with adaptability to thrive in a dynamic SaaS business environment.
• English native speaker (required) with bilingual proficiency (Mandarin, Cantonese, or Japanese) considered a strong plus to support regional negotiations and compliance coordination.
