The role of Paralegal
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Legal team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law graduate or an individual with legal experience looking to build a career within a leading financial services and debt administration business.
Working closely with the Legal team, our Senior Paralegal and business stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions, the successful candidate will provide legal and administrative support in relation to a broad range of loan agency, capital markets, restructuring and litigation transactions.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the drafting, review and execution of transaction documentation.
- Support the Legal team with transaction management and closing processes.
- Coordinate document circulation, execution and record keeping.
- Maintain records and databases.
- Conduct legal and regulatory research as required.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, external counsel, clients and counterparties.
- Support the management of external legal advisers and fee tracking.
- Assist with legal projects, process improvements and know-how initiatives.
- Help maintain legal templates, precedents and internal guidance materials and organise internal knowledge management repository.
- Provide general administrative support to the Legal team.
Experience and Qualifications
- Law degree (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Previous paralegal, legal internship or legal work experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong academic background and interest in banking and finance law and financial restructuring.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
