Business Operations Manager
BCB is looking for someone to sit at the center of how the bank actually gets things done — tracking initiatives across teams, tightening up processes that have outgrown their original design, keeping an eye on governance and vendor relationships, and turning messy detail into something senior stakeholders can act on quickly. You won't have a team reporting to you. You'll have influence instead — across Operations, Risk, Compliance, Technology and Finance — and the ability to get things moving without needing the authority to demand it.
This suits someone who's spent 3-5 years in consulting, a COO/PMO function, or an internal operations role at a bank or insurer, and who's genuinely energized by coordination and follow-through rather than frustrated by the absence of a title that says "boss."
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE DOING
- Tracking strategic initiatives end to end, including the unglamorous bit where you chase people who haven't delivered yet
- Spotting where a process has ten steps when it needs three, and fixing it — increasingly with AI tools where they genuinely help
- Owning the vendor relationship lifecycle: due diligence, onboarding, ongoing governance, renewal or exit
- Holding the governance line, even when someone senior wants you to wave something through faster than is comfortable
- Building reports and materials that let leadership make decisions quickly, without having to ask follow-up questions
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 3-5 years in consulting, PMO, COO-office or operations within financial services (or strong adjacent exposure)
- Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities — this role will rarely look the same two weeks running
- Genuine, demonstrable use of AI or data tools to change how work gets done, not just to report on it
- The instinct to say no to a shortcut when it matters, even under pressure
- Based in or relocating to Bermuda
