Summary:
The Clinic Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and orderly environment throughout the health clinic and surrounding facilities. This position supports the daily operations of the clinic by performing custodial and housekeeping duties to ensure a professional and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining infection prevention and safety standards.

- Clean and sanitize clinic exam rooms, offices, restrooms, waiting areas, kitchen areas, common areas, clinic equipment, clinic vehicles, and surrounding grounds.
- Perform routine housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, window cleaning, and disinfecting surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect countertops, doors, walls, exam tables, chairs, vents, ceilings, lamps, light fixtures, and other clinic furnishings and equipment.
- Collect and properly dispose of trash, biohazard materials, and soiled linens in accordance with clinic procedures.
- Maintain cleaning supplies, custodial equipment, and inventory to ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Follow clinic housekeeping, infection prevention, safety, and sanitation procedures at all times.
- Assist with maintaining clinic grounds and outdoor areas in a clean and presentable condition.
- Transport clinic vehicles for routine maintenance and servicing as assigned.
- Assist clinic staff with general support duties as needed.
- Maintain professionalism and positive working relationships with patients, visitors, staff, and community members.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and clinic information in accordance with HIPAA and clinic policies.
- Report maintenance, safety, or repair concerns to appropriate staff or supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of custodial practices, cleaning procedures, and sanitation standards.
- Knowledge of safe handling and proper use of cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and a positive attitude in the workplace.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, and the public.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
- Ability to perform physical labor includes lifting, bending, standing, pushing, and carrying materials or equipment.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Skilled in the operation and care of custodial tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies.
- Ability to work independently and maintain reliable attendance.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism and maturity in performing work assignments.
- Ability to wear designated uniforms or protective clothing as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least one (1) year of experience performing housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or environmental services duties in a healthcare facility, commercial setting, or similar environment preferred.
- Must possess a valid Nevada Driver’s License required.
- Must be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance carrier.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must successfully pass a background check.
