IT Service Desk Officer

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

• Provide technical support for computer hardware, software and peripherals 

• Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day user IT issues 

• Manage and follow up on support requests through the IT ticketing system, ensuring proper documentation,
  timely resolution and ownership. 

• Prepare, configure and deploy computers and user equipment 

• Install and maintain operating systems, software and peripherals 

• Maintain office IT equipment, printers, cabling and related technology 

• Perform basic computer hardware maintenance and coordinate repairs 

• Maintain accurate records of IT assets and assigned equipment 

• Manage user accounts and access according to company procedures 

• Assist with user-related systems administration 

• Take ownership of assigned IT systems, ensuring their monitoring, maintenance and reporting as required 

• Assist with the procurement and deployment of IT equipment
• Assisting the systems and net/sec teams on demand
  
• Document technical issues, repairs and equipment changes
• Provide guidance and support to users when required
• Provide support outside normal working hours when operationally required

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science or any related field 

• Good knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software and peripherals 

• Hands-on experience with computer setup and configuration 

• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 

• Patient and professional approach to user support 

• Good communication and teamwork skills 

• Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure 

• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills 

• Good written and spoken English 

• Previous experience in a similar position will be considered an advantage 

• IT certifications or professional qualifications will be considered an advantage
