Production Line Lead
Job Summary:
The Production Line Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production area. This role requires proficiency in each role and department within the production line
to effectively train and monitor the production team assigned to their line. The Production Line Lead must learn and understand all standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and protocols to ensure team compliance. This position involves monitoring employees, maintaining
accurate records, and working to improve daily output while upholding quality standards. The line lead is directly responsible for ensuring that all units produced meet the specifications outlined in the work order and production sheet.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise and support all members of the production line team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure the production line is prepared for each work order prior to commencement, including reviewing work orders, production sheets, pack-out requirements, and desired units per minute (UPM).

- Train and ensure each member of the production team performs within operating guidelines, focusing on those assigned to their production line.
- Oversee daily start-up and cleanup processes as per SOPs to maintain a safe and clean work environment, including machine calibration and metal detector testing.
- Monitor all departments within the production line to ensure progress toward hourly output goals set by the Production Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records and complete necessary documentation to report and review output while ensuring accurate inventory.
- Verify raw materials prior to starting a work order to confirm correct material type and quantity.
- Complete and submit final paperwork at the end of each work order, detailing completed units, excess material for return, and any defects identified during production.
- Ensure safe operations and uphold quality standards expected by customers.
- Assist in leading and performing preventative maintenance tasks as outlined in the maintenance schedule for production machines.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a production line or facility preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team training and supervision.
- Ability to understand and apply SOPs and quality standards consistently.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in a production environment preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods while supervising production activities.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Capacity for frequent bending, reaching, and walking within the production area.
