Sr. Business Analyst, Tax Intelligence
The Sr. Business Analyst (SBA), Tax Intelligence reports to either a Sr. Manager or a Manager within the Taxpayer Services and Compliance Department. Persons in this role are responsible for delivering high quality analytics, data transformation, reporting, and data driven insights to support the effective administration of tax laws and revenue collection. This involves transforming complex tax and financial data into reliable intelligence that informs compliance strategy, risk management, operational planning, and decision making.
The SBA, Tax Intelligence is also responsible for assisting with the efficient receipt, validation and processing of corporate income tax returns and receipts, executing audit and international tax compliance and enforcement functions in accordance with the Bermuda Corporate Income Tax Act and related regulations.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
▪ Analyse datasets to identify compliance risks, behavioural trends, revenue leakage, and emerging issues.
▪ Contribute to the development of standardised analytical frameworks that support consistent, repeatable intelligence across taxpayer services.
▪ Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness, taxpayer compliance, and program outcomes.
▪ Provide clear and accurate information to support taxpayer understanding and compliance
▪ Support tax compliance and international exchange compliance activities
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
▪ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Analytics / Statistics or a related discipline is required.
▪ Professional training or certifications in analytics and/or data management is an asset.
▪ MBA or Master’s degree in finance, economics, data analytics is an asset.
▪ Professional training or certification in tax administration, audit, or data management is an asset.
▪ Familiarity with the tax administration processes is an asset.
▪ Advanced skills using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
▪ Experience effectively using Power BI, Alteryx, or similar systems is an asset.
▪ Minimum 5 years’ experience in business analysis, data management, intelligence, or data analytics role, preferably within a tax, regulatory, or financial services sector.
▪ Proven experience effectively managing confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
