Job Summary
The Logistics Technician I position is a vital member of the JMS Operations Team and is responsible for assisting the coordination of all shipping/receiving processes.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Successfully complete multiple objectives based on information received from Logistics Supervisor and/or Lead
- Work with a small team, typically 5 or less. Communicating, listening, and retaining information is key
- Operate large forklifts, safely moving large delicate (stainless) pieces of equipment
- Using drawings and pick lists to locate and package parts
- Loading and unloading trucks shipments (Inbound & Outbound)
- Accurately package and label part numbers and quantities referencing sales order picklist
- Organize lay down space (by project, by ship date)
- Loading trucks in cost-effective, space minimizing method
- Saw, nail, screw packing material and dunnage for custom sized equipment
- Capturing photos of all JMS equipment labeled for shipment (Outbound), as needed
- Timely and effectively communicate with Logistics Supervisor regarding status including updates or perceived challenges in project delivery
- Staging raw material in inventory racking and paint color code of material grade (Inbound) on material
- Understanding and executing process and document flow
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in shipping and receiving (3 years + in manufacturing preferred)
- Experience in job-shop fabrication a plus
- Experience packaging large equipment
- Forklift experience/certification in transportation of large equipment
- Experience loading and unloading large, odd sized freight
- Ability to work effectively & efficiently with team members on multiple projects simultaneously
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
