We are looking for a highly organised and detail-orientated Financial Services Officer – Banking & Rates to join our Finance Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance administrator who enjoys working across banking, rates administration, customer service, reconciliations, and financial systems. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Council's rates, revenue, and financial processes while helping deliver exceptional service to our ratepayers, residents, suppliers, and staff.

The Opportunity | Te Whai Wāhitanga
This role offers a unique mix of:
- Assist with the accurate processing, maintenance, and collection of Council rates
- Process direct debit applications and prepare banking schedules
- Liaise with customers regarding rebate eligibility and processing requirements
- Prepare and administer rebate claim submissions
- Prepare department management reports and administrative documentation
What You'll Bring | Ō Pūkenga me Ō Wheako
We are looking for someone with the following:
Essential:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in finance, banking, rates administrative, revenue administration, or a related financial services environment
- Experience processing financial transactions, receipting, reconciliations, and general ledger
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable:
- Experience in local government finance and rating administration
- Knowledge of debt recovery and collections processes
- Understanding of public sector financial management and compliance requirements
