Legal Officer (IP & Employment focus)
Job Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and proactive Legal Officer (Junior/Mid-level) to join our in-house legal team. In this role, you will protect and support our business by handling intellectual property enforcement, researching Maltese employment regulations, and reviewing commercial agreements. This position offers a well-rounded mix of core legal work, brand protection, and essential paralegal/corporate administration within the fast-paced iGaming industry.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor, identify, and take action against trademark and copyright violations, copycat websites, and phishing threats targeting our brands.
- Draft and issue Cease & Desist letters and DMCA takedown notices to unauthorized third parties.
- Assist with the registration, maintenance, and renewal of trademarks and domain names across multiple jurisdictions.
- Review affiliate and marketing activities to ensure compliance with our IP guidelines and prevent unauthorized use of company assets.
- Provide internal support, research, and guidance on Maltese employment regulations, ensuring HR policies and practices remain compliant.
- Review, edit, and draft standard commercial agreements, including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), service provider contracts, and affiliate agreements.
- Maintain, organize, and update electronic filing systems for legal documentation and corporate records.
- Maintain legal trackers and spreadsheets to monitor contract expiration dates and deadlines.
- Conduct legal research on regulatory changes, iGaming laws, and new legislation as required.
- Provide general administrative support to the Legal team, including: scanning, certifying due diligence documentation and scheduling team meetings.
- Draft meeting minutes, corporate resolutions, and internal legal memos.
- Assist the Legal team with report generation and delivery.
Requirements:
- Location: Must be based in Malta
- Core Knowledge: A solid understanding of, or a proven track record in, Intellectual Property Law and/or Maltese Employment Law
- Education: University degree in Law (LL.B./LL.M. or equivalent) and an active legal warrant/qualification to practice in any EU jurisdiction.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a legal role (in-house or law firm). Experience within the iGaming or tech sector is considered a strong asset.
- Languages: Fluency in professional written and spoken English is mandatory.
