Job Description Summary:

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Systems Analyst with a background as a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Clinical Systems team. In this role, you will play a key part in the design, build, configuration, testing, and support of our Epic Willow system modules (Inpatient, Ambulatory, and Specialty Pharmacy), and other pharmacy systems (ADS). Leveraging your clinical pharmacy background, you will serve as a bridge between frontline pharmacy operations and IT to ensure safe, efficient, and streamlined medication management workflows across the medical center.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Build & Configuration: Assist in designing, building, testing, and optimizing Epic Willow applications and integrated pharmacy technologies (e.g., automated dispensing cabinets, barcoded medication administration, IV pumps, and compounding systems).
  • Clinical & Operational Support: Provide daily technical and operational support for pharmacy applications, serving as a primary point of contact for pharmacy staff and troubleshooting application issues.
  • Implementation & Upgrades: Participate in testing software fixes, system enhancements, and major Epic version upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical operations.
  • Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with pharmacy managers, pharmacists, and IT leadership to evaluate operational workflows and implement technical solutions that enhance patient safety and staff productivity.
  • Documentation & Training: Maintain technical documentation, work plans, and system build guides. Support end-user training and onboarding for pharmacy staff on Epic Willow functionality.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

  • Certification/License: Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Registered Pharmacy Technician license for the State of Florida.
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Management Information Systems (MIS), Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Chemical & Biological Sciences, or equivalent clinical/technical experience.
  • Experience: 1+ years of health system pharmacy experience as a Pharmacy Technician, with a strong understanding of inpatient or outpatient pharmacy workflows, medication ordering, dispensing, and inventory management.
  • Technical Aptitude: Demonstrated proficiency with healthcare information systems and a strong desire to configure and maintain pharmacy and EHR systems.

Preferred:

  • Current Epic Willow certification or proficiency (Willow Inpatient, Willow Ambulatory, or Willow Specialty).
  • Experience with automated dispensing systems (e.g., Omnicell, Pyxis) or pharmacy inventory software.
  • Experience with IV pumps systems.
