Assistant Financial Controller (Full-Time)

The BEST Group – a group of Bermudian companies providing services in the fleet, freight, logistics, shipping, trucking, and warehousing industries – is looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to join our Finance team on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be required to perform the following tasks:

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts for assigned companies.
• Process and maintain accounting transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process and reconcile vendor invoices while maintaining accurate supplier records.
• Support payroll accounting, payroll reconciliations, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and process depreciation and amortisation entries.
• Assist with inventory accounting and reconciliation activities.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and financial variances.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• A professional finance designation (CPA, CFA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) would be an advantage but is not required.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, DEXT, ERP systems, payroll systems, and online banking platforms.
• Experience in preparing management accounts, financial statements, and account reconciliations is essential.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles, general ledger management, payroll accounting, and financial controls.
• Experience within the logistics, transportation, shipping, or service industries would be considered an asset.
