Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated BMC Firmware Engineer to join our server management firmware development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining BMC firmware for enterprise and data center server platforms, working closely with hardware, BIOS, system validation, and customer teams.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, debug, and maintain MegaRAC/OneTree BMC firmware codebases for NVIDIA platforms (Grace, Blackwell, and Vera Rubin architectures).
Develop and optimize low-level firmware and Linux device drivers across I2C/I3C topologies, DTS, SSIF, PCIe, and Shared Memory (SHMEM) interfaces.
Implement NVIDIA-specific management and security features, including NSM (NVIDIA System Management), SPDM attestation, in-silicon RoT (EROT/iROT/Caliptra), and authenticated FW update (PLDM Type 5).
Bring up and troubleshoot platform-level subsystems, including high-throughput GPU/CPU telemetry, thermal regulation (PWM fan/liquid cooling), power capping, and CPER error decoding.
Support Tier-1 customer requirements, author technical documentation/architecture specs, and deliver robust reference solutions for enterprise AI platforms.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
2+ years of software or firmware development experience.
Strong programming skills in C/C++.
Solid experience with Linux, including debugging and system-level development.
Experience in BMC, server firmware, embedded systems, or system management software.
Good understanding of computer architecture and server hardware.
Experience with firmware debugging, log analysis, and root-cause analysis.
Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on development experience with OpenBMC or MegaRAC/OneTree firmware stacks.
Experience with NVIDIA server platforms (Grace CPU, Hopper/Blackwell, or Vera Rubin architectures).
Experience with ASPEED BMC SoCs (e.g., AST2600, AST2700).
Deep understanding of OpenBMC architecture, including systemd, D-Bus IPC, and Linux kernel drivers.
Familiarity with hardware Root of Trust (EROT/iROT, Caliptra, SPDM) and secure firmware update flows.
Exposure to NVIDIA-specific management interfaces such as NSM, Redfish over USB, or Shared Memory (SHMEM) IPC mechanisms.
Solid programming skills in C/C++ and strong experience with Embedded Linux, device drivers, and Device Tree (DTS).
Familiarity with low-level hardware buses and protocols: I2C/I3C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and platform sensors/thermal management.
Skills:
BMC Firmware Development
Embedded Linux & Device Drivers
C / C++
IPMI, Redfish, PLDM & MCTP
I2C, I3C, SPI, GPIO & PCIe
Server Telemetry & Thermal Management
Firmware Debugging
Platform Power Sequence & Bring-up
Git / CI/CD
What You Will Work On:
Develop and maintain OneTree/MegaRAC BMC features for next-generation NVIDIA AI platforms (Grace, Blackwell, and Vera Rubin), working closely across Linux Kernel, Device Tree, low-level bus topologies (I2C/I3C, SHMEM, PCIe), and platform security (EROT/iROT, Caliptra, SPDM). You will build high-throughput MCTP/NSM telemetry pipelines, Redfish APIs, and authenticated FW update flows.
