Seeds Wilderness Way exists to bring hope, healing, and restoration to teens and families facing deep emotional, relational, and spiritual struggles. As a licensed Christian outdoor behavioral treatment program, Seeds uses wilderness experiences, Christ‑centered counseling, and relational discipleship to help teens discover identity, purpose, and renewed connection with God.

Volunteers support this mission by helping create safe, loving, spiritually grounded environments where students can encounter transformation.

What Seeds Does

• Supports teens facing anxiety, depression, identity struggles, family conflict, and crisis‑level behaviors.
• Leads 40‑day and 5-day wilderness expeditions designed for heart transformation, healing, and reconciliation.
• Provides preventative programs for parents, families, and youth leaders.
• Offers three years of aftercare and discipleship to help students continue growth at home.
• Integrates Christian counseling, experiential learning, peer support, prayer, and spiritual formation.

Requirements for Volunteers

• Some general and specific trainings required before start 
• Volunteers who may have direct contact with students are required to pass a background check and will have additional training. 
• All volunteers must be physically capable of completing their position’s workload. Workload intensity will vary. All volunteers are recommended to be able to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.

Vehicles & Driving Volunteer Role Summary

The Vehicles & Driving Volunteer provides dependable transportation and vehicle support for Seeds Wilderness Way's front-country and backcountry operations.

This role is suited for an experienced and safety-conscious driver who is comfortable with outdoor environments and, preferably, four-wheel-drive vehicles and off-road travel.

The volunteer helps transport students, staff, food, gear, and supplies while assisting the Operations & Logistics Director with vehicle readiness and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely drive Seeds vehicles as assigned.
• Transport students, employees, food, gear, and supplies.
• Assist with weekly field resupply and water-drop operations.
• Help transport new students arriving into the program.
• Conduct basic vehicle safety inspections before use.
• Report maintenance, mechanical, or safety concerns immediately.
• Help keep vehicles clean, organized, fueled, and ready for deployment.
• Assist with loading and unloading vehicles.
• Help with supply pickups, errands, shopping, and other transportation needs.
• Assist with 4x4 and off-road transportation when appropriately trained and authorized.
• Follow all company transportation policies and applicable laws.
• Assist with other logistics duties as needed.
• Participate in Seeds prayer and devotional life when able. Pray over and minister to students and staff in your vehicle. 

Desired Experience

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Prior professional, volunteer, outdoor, or expedition driving experience preferred.
• Four-wheel-drive/off-road experience highly preferred.
• Experience with manual-transmission vehicles and 4x4 locking hubs preferred.
• Familiarity with mountain roads and backcountry environments preferred.
• Ability to read maps and use GPS.
• Strong safety awareness and good judgment.
• Dependable and comfortable working independently.

• Ability to pass background check and participate in additional training prior to direct contact with students.
