Kids Club Counselor - Seasonal

Hiring Range:  Starting at $15.00 per hour

Hours:  After school hours Mon/Tues/Thurs 3:30pm - 6:00pm and Wed 2:30pm - 6:00pm, for the entire duration of the school year

Job Summary:
Under direct supervision is responsible for supervising children along with planning, organizing, and implementing day-to-day activities at various Elk Grove District 59 Schools.
 
Job Functions:

• Supervise children ranging from Kindergarten through 5th grades.
• Create monthly lesson plans that include theme days, special crafts, and other activities.
• Maintain a commitment to the development of each child's self-esteem by providing a safe, fun and nurturing environment through age appropriate activities, crafts, and games.
• Be present and on time to school every day.
• Displays the ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
• Attend all monthly staff meetings and other required trainings/events that are scheduled after normal working hours.
• Be enthusiastic – you are a role model.
• Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
• Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
• Assist in working the School Days Off Program on additional days that school is not scheduled.

 Qualifications:

• Current Food Handler Certification
• Valid CPR, First Aid, AED (Pediatric and Adult) Certifications.
• Know developmentally appropriate activities for the age of the children.
• Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.
• Effective leadership skills.
• Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.

 Education & Experience:

• One to three years' experience working with children.
• Some college education preferred
